Personal Guidelines:

Wear attire appropriate for your shoot. Set aside some time to carefully select the outfit that you are going wear.

Get enough sleep prior to the photo shoot.

Come with a clean face, but do not use moisturizer, as this creates reflections. If you’re doing your own make-up, a simple natural look always works best.

Make sure your hair is styled before arriving at the photo shoot. A natural looking style always works well.

Do not worry unduly about temporary skin blemishes: these can be removed as part of the photo finishing process.

Arrive at least five minutes prior to your scheduled session.

Clothing Guidelines:

Avoid big prints and busy patterns. Solids usually work best.

If you wear jewellery, do bring simple earrings, bracelets, and necklaces with you. They add interest to most photos.

Business Portraits:

Women: Wear a tailored business blazer or professional dress that flatters your body type. Gray, blues, black are great for this type of look. For blouses underneath the jacket, silky fabric looks great on camera. A solid colored top or silky accents always add interest to the photo. Flattering colors for all skin types: Eggplant, Indian Teal, True Red and Mellow Rose.

Men: If you wear a suit, ensure that it fits you well and is preferably a classic dark color like navy blue or gray. Choose a suit that doesn’t bunch up when you button it or if you sit down. For dress shirts, choose one that matches the suit and tie. Try to stay away from anything with bold, distracting patterns or colors. Ensure your tie complements your shirt. Red, blue, purple and black ties are good colours for this type of photo shoot. Very busy multi-color prints, stripes (big or small), neon colors, all white, and all black – are not the best choices for a photo shoot.
